Dental Implants for Ermington & Rydalmere Residents: Just Across the River

Dental Implants for Ermington & Rydalmere Residents: Just Across the River

By Shine Dental Team

Principal Dentist: Dr. Jin-Ho Cho — BDS (University of Sydney, 1987), 9,000+ implant fixtures placed

If you live in Ermington or Rydalmere, the Parramatta River can feel like a dividing line — most things seem to be either up Victoria Road towards Parramatta or a long haul east towards the city. When it comes to dental implants, though, the shortest road runs straight across the water. Shine Dental Newington sits just over Silverwater Bridge, only minutes from both suburbs, and principal dentist Dr. Jin-Ho Cho has placed 9,000+ dental implant fixtures over more than 35 years in practice. Here is why crossing the river might be the easiest healthcare decision you make this year.

How Close Is Newington, Really?

Closer than Parramatta for most of Ermington and Rydalmere. From Ermington, head down to Victoria Road, turn onto Silverwater Road and cross Silverwater Bridge — you are in Newington in around five to eight minutes outside peak times. From Rydalmere, whether you start near the Western Sydney University campus or the wharf end of the suburb, it is the same simple run: Victoria Road to Silverwater Road, over the bridge, then left onto Holker Street.

Shine Dental is at Unit 5, 8 Avenue of Americas, Newington NSW 2127, with onsite parking — no circling side streets, no parking meters. Because implant treatment involves several appointments across a few months, that kind of easy, predictable trip makes the whole process far less disruptive than travelling into the CBD or fighting the Victoria Road crawl at school pick-up time. We also have dedicated pages for Ermington and Rydalmere patients covering the full range of our services.

Who Is Dr. Jin-Ho Cho?

Dr. Cho graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Sydney in 1987 and has been treating patients for more than 35 years. His special interest is implant dentistry, and over his career he has placed 9,000+ dental implant fixtures — from straightforward single-tooth cases to full-arch rehabilitations.

He is also a Key Opinion Leader (KOL) for the DIO Implant System, a role in which he provides clinical education to other dentists on implant treatment using that system. When you sit down for a consultation, you are talking to a clinician whose implant planning other dentists study. For an overview of the treatment itself, visit our dental implants service page; if you have lost most or all teeth in a jaw, our All-on-X page explains full-arch options.

What Happens at Your First Visit?

Your consultation begins with a digital examination of your teeth, gums and bite. Where indicated, we take a 3D CBCT scan on site — a cone-beam image that shows your jawbone in three dimensions, including bone height and width and the position of nerves and sinuses. This is the information that makes implant placement precise and safe, and it means your treatment plan is based on your anatomy, not assumptions.

Before anything proceeds, you receive a written, itemised quote listing dental item numbers for every part of the plan. You can take it away, think it over and ask as many questions as you like. Consultations are available in English and Korean.

What Will Dental Implants Cost?

We do not quote figures on the website, because a responsible implant quote can only follow an examination — but we can tell you exactly how the fees are structured. Implant treatment is quoted in three stages:

  1. Implant placement — the surgical stage where the fixture is placed in the jawbone.
  2. Abutment placement — the connector fitted after the implant integrates with the bone.
  3. Final crown — the custom tooth attached to finish the restoration.

Each stage is itemised on your written quote with its own item numbers, so you always know what a given appointment covers and what to claim from your health fund. Variables such as bone grafting, the number of implants and the restoration type all influence the overall figure — our detailed guide on the factors behind dental implant costs in Sydney explains each one. Remember that Medicare typically does not cover routine adult dental treatment, so your health fund is the main avenue for rebates.

Health Funds and On-the-Spot Claims

Shine Dental is equipped with HICAPS, so your health fund claim is processed on the spot at each visit and you pay only the gap. We are preferred providers for CBHS and NIB, meaning members of those funds may receive higher rebates depending on their level of cover. Bring your fund card to the consultation and we will help you map your cover against each stage of the quote.
